The Magellan Maestro 4250 GPS Navigator offers live traffic info, voice command and control, built-in AAA TourBook and Roadside Assistance information, text-to-speech, bluetooth for hands-free calling, all on a 4.3? wide screen display.
The Magellan Maestro 4250 is the new top of the line auto navigation unit from Magellan. Thinner and lighter than the Magellan 4050 GPS Navigation Device, the 4250 also increases the number of points of interest (POIs) available to 6 million (vs. the 4050’s 4.5 million).
Otherwise, the two units are identical in their key specs. Both offer voice commands, pre-loaded maps of the U.S. and Canada, text-to-speech, Bluetooth and live traffic info.

With a gorgeous widescreen display, the Garmin nüvi 660 GPS Navigation Device is your answer to the call of adventure. A sleek navigator and a keen travel assistant, the nüvi 660 is preloaded with highly detailed City Navigator NT road maps for the entire United States, Canada, and Puerto Rico. This map database features nearly six million points of interest (POIs), including hotels, restaurants, gas stations, ATMs, and attractions, and the data is provided by NAVTEQ, a world leader in premium-quality mapping. This preloaded navigator brings all this fantastic map data to your fingertips with a super-bright, 4.3-inch widescreen display for improved map viewing, day or night. This idea is so obvious, no one thought of it until now. Uniden is launching a line of interoperable GPS devices and radar detectors. Uniden’s Trax line of GPS devices offer standard functionality, such as route guidance, text-to-speech, and either a 3.5- or 4.3-inch screen. The Trax line uses NavTeq maps, and has what Uniden says is the fastest satellite acquisition among its competitors. Uniden’s line of radar detectors is the LRD series, which detects X, K, KA, VG2, Laser, Ultralyte Laser L2, and Pro Laser 3 guns. Apparently, you will be able to plug the radar detectors into the navigation units. The GPS display will show detected radar guns complete with its approximate location in relation to the car.
We can imagine a lot of possibilities with a system like this. Each detected radar gun could be logged by the GPS device, so over time you could build up a database of speed traps. If this data could be shared on a Web site, you would end up with a pretty comprehensive database of speed traps. Maybe put into a Google map application? Kind of like the manually created Speed Trap Exchange.

The TomTom ONE XL GPS Navigator has everything you need to make your trip safer, more relaxed and more enjoyable. The new 4.3″ touchscreen and access to real-time traffic services make navigating the road even easier. A large choice of route options, complete US and Canada maps, as well as many useful and fun points-of-interest already loaded for your adventure, you’re ready for worry-free navigation from point A to point B.

GPS navigation devices seem to be popping everywhere now, from your car to your cell phone, even video games. But how exactly does a GPS navigation system work? They have not so complicated as you might think.
Use Global Positioning System satellites in Earth orbit to transmit signals to portable GPS navigation devices on the surface. In order for the GPS units to work properly, it requires accurate transmission time. That is why all the GPS satellites are equipped with atomic clocks, which are always in sync not only with each other but also with all GPS devices on the ground.
Each GPS navigation system uses at least four separate satellites to determine its position on the Earth. Each satellite uses a spherical system, which allows devices to judge their whereabouts. Dependencies of how far from your location on Earth satellite, the more scope. Using these areas as a base for reference, the GPS device can determine its precise location within each of the areas generated by satellites, as well as on the surface of the planet, on the basis of which overlapped areas.
In the United States alone, there are at least twenty-four GPS satellites in orbit, and in the world there are hundreds of satellites from different countries using many different GPS networks, but they all operate on the principle of nuclear same time. This means, in short, that no matter what kind of GPS navigator device you own, regardless of where in the world you are, your GPS navigation device will be able to tell you exactly where you are.

An easy way to use GPS without spending a lot of money is to buy a Bluetooth GPS navigation device.
Bluetooth technology is the latest that to achieve the electronics industry, and it is logical that the next step is that the producers will be trying to reinvent the Bluetooth GPS navigation to add to our ever growing hoard of electronic transmissions. The order in which Bluetooth technology is based on the concept of no wires. He gets in touch transparently things as a mobile phone, PDA, without being forced to deal with annoying wires.
A Bluetooth GPS navigator essentially turns the device into a GPS receiver. This is not a new concept, but prior to achieve this, you need a compact flash slot, or other type of wiring configuration attach conversion add-on device, and personal digital assistants together. But today, thanks to Bluetooth technology, you can easily turn your mobile phone or your personal digital assistant to a GPS navigation device with no special wiring needed.
Make your PDA a Bluetooth GPS navigation system is not a time that we have wireless technology, so as not to disturb our mobility and ease of use. All you need is the expansion slot for a memory card that will store your cards for you and do not take up valuable space on the unit. Bluetooth technology really benefit us in the use of these devices as a vehicle navigation system. Wireless capabilities allows the GPS navigation system needs to be placed in an area that has a clear picture of the sky, while the PDA could be held or mounted screen for optimal visibility and easy access to menu screens.
Creating your PDA in to a Bluetooth GPS navigator is desirable and has a great advantage now that it is GPS capable. If this is your compact flash slot that it is only free to store additional information, such as maps, which include not only the direction but also the issues of concern in addition. Issues of interest can be hotels, eating places, the gas station, and rides to the sites you visit. If your personal digital assistant could not become a Bluetooth GPS navigation device, you can buy an adaptor, which will be on your flash disk, or other slot, and can be used as a navigation aid.
We have some electronic equipment that we use in our day, that makes life more comfortable. It only makes common sense that we try to get as many of these types of equipment as possible, which is why making your PDA in to a Bluetooth GPS navigator is a good idea. At least one less gadget to carry out on!
